It is currently run by Héctor Beltrán Leyva, alias 'El H,' the middle sibling in a family that managed the Sinaloa Cartel’s hitmen networks for years and controlled the state of Sonora and the lucrative port entry in Acapulco. The arrest of Alfredo Beltrán Leyva, alias 'El Mochomo,' in 2008, sparked a battle with the family’s long-time allies, the Sinaloa Cartel, and its precipitous fall."
