"A member of Spanish Town's notorious Klansman gang was yesterday shot dead in the St Catherine capital in what police believe is a feud among members of the criminal outfit.
The gangster, identified as Jermaine Morrison, alias 'Speedy', 31, was shot dead while at a service station at the corner of Young Street by men travelling in a motor car. A man and a woman were injured in the shooting, which sent scores of pedestrians scampering from the busy commercial area shortly after 2:00 pm.
Police said the injured persons were admitted to hospital in stable condition.
Head of the St Catherine North Police Division, Superintendent Anthony Castell, said Morrison's death was the latest in a heated internal rift between members of the gang, believed to be one of the deadliest in the country.
'It is an internal or intra-gang rivalry between the members. Tesha Miller (reputed head of the gang) is now in jail so the others are fighting over who must control which turf,' said Castell."
