Alleged gangster charged with violent home invasion: "member of the Providence Street Posse was arraigned yesterday on home invasion charges stemming from a September robbery in which three men broke into a Valmor Street home and pistol-whipped a man inside.

Devon Smith, 19, of 3 Crown St., Apt. 1, was arraigned in Central District Court on charges of home invasion, armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and armed assault in a dwelling.

Mr. Smith and two other men broke into a Valmor Street home Sept. 23, according to Assistant District Attorney Marc W. Dupuis.

An 18-year-old woman ran into a room when the break-in occurred and called her 20-year-old brother, who was in another room."
